If you love a hearty, delicious soup, you will definitely want to make this one! It is made with Italian sausage, which gives it such a wonderful flavor, and then you add in all the delicious spices and tomatoes, and you have a delicious soup! This is wonderful on a cold day and one you will make over and over again!

Swaps or Additions

We love this soup wiht Italian Sausage but you could use hamburger. The sugar adds to the soup, even though I know some will question it.. we love the flavor and you can’t taste the sugar. A small amount of sugar balances the tomatoes’ natural acidity without making the soup taste sweet. It’s an old-fashioned cooking trick that brings all the flavors together.

Tips

You can easily halve this recipe; it’s very simple to do! The ingredients are all easy! You can also freeze this soup, it would freeze well. I think this soup would be delicious topped with croutons!
