New HyperOS 3 Feature Links Xiaomi to Apple Devices

Xiaomi has introduced a significant upgrade to its ecosystem with HyperOS 3, bringing a new level of interoperability between Xiaomi devices and Apple products. This update aims to reduce the long-standing barriers between Android and Apple environments, offering users a more seamless experience when working across different platforms. For those who frequently switch between Xiaomi and Apple devices, this new functionality can simplify everyday tasks and improve overall workflow.

The main purpose of the feature is to allow Xiaomi smartphones, tablets, and computers to communicate smoothly with iPhones, iPads, and Macs. Previously, this type of integration required third-party applications or workarounds, often with limited reliability. HyperOS 3 changes this scenario by providing native support for cross-platform interactions, making it easier to share content, connect devices, and manage files regardless of the operating system.

To use this new interconnectivity system, users must ensure their devices meet a few basic requirements. On the Apple side, an iPhone with iOS 14+, an iPad with iPadOS 14+, and a Mac running macOS 12 or later are necessary. One specific feature, known as “Touch to Share,” requires an iPhone 12 or newer with iOS 17. These versions ensure compatibility with the communication protocols used by HyperOS 3.

A key component of the setup is the Xiaomi Interconnectivity app, available through the Apple App Store. Users should install or update the app to version 2.0.0 or higher on their Apple devices. Once installed, both the Xiaomi and Apple devices need to have Bluetooth enabled, be connected to the same Wi-Fi network, and be logged into the same Xiaomi account. On the Xiaomi phone, it is also necessary to activate the “Device interconnection” and “Home screen+” options in the system settings.

After completing the configuration, users gain access to a range of integrated features. These include easy file transfers between devices, the ability to mirror a Xiaomi phone’s screen on an iPad, and improved cross-platform multitasking.
